Christian Aid Fundraising

GPS Treasure Hunt

Come and join us on Saturday 5th August, 2pm – 4pm starting at NCBC and finishing back at NCBC for Pizza and refreshments at 4:30pm

The cost is £7.50 a head with maximum teams of 5 people.

We’ve got a great treasure hunt lined up for you to support the work of Christian Aid called City Explorer. This is a perfect family event for the summer in the heart of Norwich city centre. You can use your own mobile devices (telephones) for up to 2 hours.

The teams are off…

Having split into teams of up to 5 and taken your team selfie, you’ll need to combine your talents and get as many points as possible to win the challenge! You’ll see a live map with approximately 15 hotspots placed around the city which can only be unlocked through GPS when you reach the correct spot. The variety of the content is staggering and designed to keep teams engaged throughout – multiple choice questions, video challenges, ‘what happened next’, creative photos to take, invisible tasks to locate, timed questions, music to identify etc. You name it, we’ve probably thought of it!

The tension builds…

Points are awarded for correctly completing these tasks, with bonus points for accuracy!  The live scoreboard updates throughout the game to keep everyone on their toes and ensure a certain level of momentum right up until the end of the game.

Your unique Game Code will be given to you on 5th August 2017 before the start

Invite your friends and families, the more the merrier!

Guess the number of sweeties in the jar

Thank you to everyone who had a go at guessing the number of sweets in the jar.  This raised over £100 and the correct number was 537.  Congratulations to the winner, one of the parents who attends the mid-week parents and toddler group, Cafe Tots.

As well as our street collection for Christian Aid Week (14th – 20th May) there’s lots more going on to raise money for Christian Aid.  Over £300 was raised from donations on Sunday 14th May for Steve Gaskin’s home made muffins and cakes (yum yum) and £1,000 was raised at the Quiz Night in April.

On Saturday 3rd June a team of us got together to host a Curry and Games night to raise funds for Christian Aid.  Around 20 people attended and had a great feast of Curry, rice, and freshly baked naan bread.  Then the games began with groups taking part in various things such as Dobble and Bendominos.  We raised over £150 for Christian Aid and a great time was had by all.

Ladies’ Afternoon Tea

The afternoon tea in May was another big success with over 30 ladies attending – we are looking forward to the next one on the 8th July!  See the Ladies Social page for information about 2017 plans.

The Crib Blog

Jenny has been busy writing a brilliant blog for the families of children in The Crib so they can see what the children are doing each week, and also to help anyone else who is looking for inspiration.  You can read it here and also from The Crib page.
